An illustration for the sci-fi poetry collection "Nightship". It's illustrating a poem called "Robot/Worker". It's written by either David C. Kopaska-Merkel or Kendall Evans. Not quite sure which one it is.

Ha! First laugh of the day, and I bet that it will last! Nice lineart as well!

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Thanks! You’re welcome to the laugh! Have a great day 2"

I may be getting second laugh but it’s still a laugh. Poor mankind indeed. This will have me giggling all night long.

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, I’m glad it didn’t make you depressed, considering the bleak options for mankind if we don’t straighten up real soon 8 I’m happy to have tickled your funnybone 2"

Reminds me of Fallout 3 - just the level of destruction in the background that is.

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, when we eventually mess it all up, we’ll probably do it really bad."

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Perhaps even post-modern Hamlet 1 Glad you like him, even though he is a bit bashed up."

A very sad, nostalgic, futuristic variant of "Hamlet"? Nice....

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, the poem (that is the basis of this illo) kind of goes up that road, without ever really referring to Shakespeare."

I agree with the guys above. To be or not to be...?

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "That’s the question we should be asking ourselves now, instead of having robots ponder it when we’re all gone."

Hmm, makes me wonder what would happen if robots conquer the Earth and kill every humans.

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Well, it probably won’t happen withing the next few weeks. This illustration, though, is for a poem about life on Earth after we humans messed it all up."

Ironically, we just watched a program about Japanese robots, including the amazing walking Asimo. very thoughtful picture, and like Yoric, you are also "A fellow of infinite jest"

:-) Richard Svensson replies: "Thanks; I do like a gentle jest now and then. This image illustrates a poem, but I’d like to think it stands on its on as well."
